Oh, how the color blue doth shine so bright,
As if the sky itself hath taken flight.
And lo, a creature doth catch mine eye,
A noble lion, majestic and spry.

But what doth this object here appear?
A simple vase, yet so very dear.
For in it blooms a rose so fair,
A symbol of love beyond compare.

And two men, whose hearts beat as one,
Their love like the rose, forever begun.
Their bond, like the lion’s roar,
Strong and true forevermore.

Oh, let not the color of their love be judged,
Nor the object of their affection begrudged.
For in the eyes of love, all is fair,
And the lion and rose shall forever declare.
