In verdant fields doth roam the hare,
With coat of gold, so soft and fair.
A ruby locket, round his neck,
Doth catch the eye, and hearts doth wreck.

Two men, whose love doth burn so bright,
Doth chance upon this wondrous sight.
Their eyes do meet, their hearts do race,
As they behold this wondrous grace.

One man, with hair as black as night,
Doth reach out, and doth take a bite.
The other man, with hair like flame,
Doth laugh, and doth do the same.

They share this hare, this object rare,
And in each other’s eyes they stare.
Their love doth shine, like sun on sea,
Forever bound, these two shall be.
