Oh, how the color green doth shine so bright
Like leaves on trees in morning light
A hue that speaks of life and growth
Of hope and joy, and love and both
And what of creatures that roam the earth?
Of all the beasts that grace our turf
One stands out, with grace and might
The lion, king of day and night
But what of these two men, who love so true?
Whose hearts beat as one, both old and new
Their love, like green, grows strong and bright
Their bond, like lions, fierce and right
And yet, an object, what shall it be?
A symbol of their love, for all to see
A ring, so pure, so bright, so true
A token of their love, forever new
So let the color green, the lion’s grace
And this ring, their love embrace
For these two men, whose love doth shine
Shall forever be, each other’s valentine.
