Oh, how fair the hue of green,
Like emerald gems in the sun’s sheen,
A color that speaks of life and growth,
And nature’s beauty that we both knoweth.

And what creature matches this shade?
A serpent, slithering through the glade,
With scales that shimmer and gleam,
A sight that oft makes our hearts beam.

But what of the object that we adore?
A simple book, with pages galore,
Filled with tales of love and strife,
And the mysteries of this mortal life.

And yet, two men who love each other,
In a world that oft judges and smothers,
Find solace in the color, the creature, the tome,
Together, they find a place to call home.

For love knows no boundaries, nor colors, nor beasts,
It’s a feeling that never fades, never ceases,
And in each other’s arms, they find their peace,
A love that’s pure, and true, and never decreases.
