Oh, how the color green doth shine so bright,
Like emeralds in the sun’s warm light.
And what creature doth this color adorn?
Why, the mighty serpent, sleek and strong.
But what of the object, so plain and small?
A ring, perhaps, that doth enthrall?
Two men, in love, doth wear this band,
A symbol of their love so grand.
Their passion burns like fire in the night,
Their love so true, a wondrous sight.
No matter what the world may say,
Their hearts beat as one, day by day.
So let the green serpent slither and slide,
And let the ring upon their fingers abide.
For love, in any form, is a thing of beauty,
And should be cherished, always and truly.
